How to take care of your pieces?

A: Wear with care and always be gentle. Below are a few guidelines:

  • Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, perfumes, and lotions to prevent tarnishing.
  • Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, or engaging in vigorous activities.
  • Clean gently with a soft cloth to maintain shine.
  • Store in a dry, sealed container to prevent scratching and tarnishing.

What metals do you use in your work?

A: Most of the pieces are made with 14K gold fill wires, spacer beads, and other findings. Occasionally we use gold plated post earring findings with sterling silver post.

What is 14K gold fill and how does it differ from gold plated and solid gold?

A: 14K gold fill consists of a thick layer of 14K gold mechanically bonded to a base metal core, typically brass or copper. The solid gold accounts for at least 5% of the metal’s total weight. It offers the look and durability of solid gold at a more affordable price point. 14K gold fill jewelry is resistant to tarnishing and suitable for everyday wear.

Gold plated jewelry features a thin layer of gold electroplated onto a base metal, such as brass or silver. While it offers an attractive gold finish at a lower cost, the gold layer can wear off over time with regular use, exposing the base metal underneath.

Solid gold jewelry is made entirely of gold, typically 10K, 14K, 18K, or 24K. The karatage indicates the purity of the gold, with higher karats containing a higher percentage of gold. Solid gold jewelry is prized for its longevity, resistance to tarnishing, and enduring value. However, it tends to be more expensive than gold fill or gold plated options due to its higher gold content.
